How to use this with a retailer. Don’t argue about the defaults. Hand the model over, let the operations team replace every number with their own observed times, and work from whatever total they produce. A figure the retailer owns is worth more than a figure we calculated for them.

Where the four counts come from. A single till draw is typically verified on issue by the manager, accepted and counted by the team member, counted again by that team member at close, and verified once more by the manager or cash office on return. The CIT provider then counts it a fifth time at the cash centre, and any discrepancy discovered there triggers a retrospective investigation at store level. Each of those counts is modelled as a separate line so it can be individually challenged or removed.

What CIDCO removes. Tasks marked as removed are eliminated at source rather than made faster, because no float is issued and no coin is dispensed. Tasks marked as reduced continue in a diminished form — a single hub still requires collection, and notes still enter the building. Toggle the view to see the difference.

Not included. This model counts labour hours only. It does not price CIT contract fees, coin order and delivery charges, recycler maintenance and service agreements, cash-in-transit insurance, till float working capital, shrinkage and variance write-offs, counterfeit losses, or the customer-side queue time cost of coin handling at the lane.
